Characteristics
of Work:
· Some
of the characteristics of work are: Good work Ethics, good Communication
skills, Tools, Rules & Organizations, Time Factors, Team work, Homework,
Responsibility for you works, Incentives, & Respecting Authority.
· Authority is a main issue that people ignore
& try to change, but you must respect authority because it comes from the
Lord and provides leadership. Authority is placed by the Lord to set things in
motion so that we may all get the job done.
· Sometimes
we like to look at the clock while we are working…with that in mind… look at
your watch & consider how much time out of the day we spend working. Time is divided into 24hrs. (8hrs. working,
8hrs. sleeping, & 8hrs. of leisure time) 1/3 of your time you spend
working. We have to use that time wisely because our reward is distributed by what
work you get done.
· Everybody
has their own job to do in working. (1
Corinthians 12) -In the spiritual form everyone has their own part just as
in the world. (Physical Work) –There are those who Prophesy, Preachers,
Interpret, Discern, and ect. The work is all around you…Do you spend that time
wisely? It’s something that everyone must think about…you have to be on time:
you can’t be late to work because if you’re late you get points taken off.
Sometimes we get spiritually late because we tend to get caught up in things
like worrying about situations which slow you down as opposed to trusting GoD.
GoD is always on time and you will always be on time as long as you Trust
HiM…That is a part of respecting authority.
· If you slack up on your responsibilities at work and
make up your own rules things will not get done at work and the management will
get after you. We’ve all been there, especially when you’re young, and it’s
kind of hard to get serious about certain jobs, but everything happens for a
reason. -Any Job that you get you really want to work hard at; you should give
it your best and work as if you’re working unto the Lord, not as if you are
working unto man, but as if you are working unto the Lord.( Ephesians
6:7) He’s the one watching over you & seeing what kind of work you are
doing here on earth. He put us all here for a reason: Part of it is Ministry,
part of it is Learning, Growing, and Serving others.
· Work consists of everyone doing their own
part/collaborating some plant & some water. The Lord is in charge and has
everyone doing their own part, but He also wants us to work together as a team.
“We are many member & one body and the hand can’t say to the foot I don’t
need you…” –TEAM
WORK–
· 1
Peter 2:13-16 –Authority...That’s talking all about respecting the
Authority that’s over you & you reap the Blessing of treating others with
respect. Do to others as you would have them do unto you. (Matthew
7:12) This may allow you to be Blessed by respecting the Authority that’s
over you.
· Law Enforcement – “Serve & Protect” – We Serve
others & Protect the Truth, we protect each other, and watch out for each
other to make sure that we are walking upright. We are all accountable for each
other so we must have good communication so that we can let each other know
where we stand and that we are going down the right path in one mind.(one
accord) “One Body with many parts” – Christ is the Head & He is the
ultimate authority & we fall under HiM. He is the one that controls
everything and we are the one responding to HiM. –We have to respect the
Authority figure & have Communication with each other. “The hand cannot
tell the foot that it doesn’t need it…” We all work together and in that we
Respect the Authority figure…
· We all have to bear fruit. When we go to work it is for
a reason; we all help each other to get a job done. The Lord wants us to bear
fruit. “The tree that bears fruit is a good tree…” There are two kinds of
trees: 1.Bares Good Fruit 2.Bares corrupt fruit. –You have to be one or the
other. If you bare Good Fruit, you will reap the Blessing just like you would
at work. -You have a calling in your life and you know you have heard His voice
telling you He has a purpose for you. (There’s something that only you can do
that has to be done) Listen to Him and He will place everything there that you
need to do His work; He will lay all the puzzle pieces down & then you will
see the “Big Picture.”
· There is a “control time” to work…There is a certain
amount of time that you have to get the work done. If you plant a tree, it
needs a certain amount of time to grow. Within that time period you must tend
to it & make sure that it grows properly…In your spiritual life, you have
to make sure that you tend to what the Lord has placed before you before He
moves you on to the next level. Personally, the Lord has shown me instances in
which He has something for me to do and then calls me to move on. Sometimes I
see the fruits right away and at other times I don’t immediately see the
fruits, but in time the Lord plants them there.
· John
15:1-8 – that’s “Word”-Your reward for working is the fruit that you bear
and the opposite of work is the dry branch that gets severed and thrown into
the fire. When you work, the Lord works with you and those around you to
produce the fruit and to give it what it needs. If you did the opposite of
work, life passes you by and you whither up and die because you don’t really
care about anything. If you don’t work, you don’t eat. ( 2
Thessalonians 3:10) It is there for a reason…the Lord has set a purpose for
you, even before you were born, He knew you. Only you and the Lord really know
the work that has been set before you because He has spoken those words to you.
You just have to “really” listen to Him.
· Communication – You need to be able to communicate with
your fellow believers because if you do not have no communication you are “cut
off.” (Paralyzed) If there is no communication how do you know what to do next?
–If there is no communication from your authority like managers, leads, or
supervisors you could end up hurting yourself or someone around you like Jonah.(
Jonah
1-4) –Disobedience and no communication causes you to wind up in a drastic
situation that could have been avoided because you did not listen to authority,
like Jonah. –It’s all tying together…If you’re doing the work, then you are
putting the work together.
· If you’re not working you are like a pond (stilled). –“Speaking
of Ponds…” –If you’re still (Stagnate) like still water you become like “pond
scum.” Pond scum is bitter water and is not drinkable because it could kill
you. There are too many things in pond scum that can kill you, like different
types of bacteria. You do not want to be stilled, (stagnate) so when the Lord
has something for you to do or speak, do it or speak it because it is all a
part of His plan for your life. Keep it running (rolling) like a river. We are Rolling
(doing the Lord’s work) down the River of the Holy Spirit running through.
–Meditate on these words that were placed there for you and start putting the
puzzle pieces together. We have a lot more for you, pieces of the puzzle…We’re
constantly dropping pieces.
· Close your eyes…Open your eyes…What’s the first thing
you see? –TRUST
GOD!!! –Everything happens for a reason and you just have to
trust Him, that’s how we do the work.

Temptations
to Quit:
·
Temptations to Quit – How many times do you feel like quitting your
job when you’re dealing with issues at work like dealing with people, or you
feel that the work is just too hard for you to do, or you just get tired? A lot
of times people just want to quit or get tempted to quit…Maybe you just need a
vacation or time to get the proper rest that you need. Rest is very
important…Know that you need to rest and to get rest when you can…You really
need to take care of yourself because all of these things factor into your
health.
·
How many times are you tempted to quit? –We all get those
temptations…There have been jobs in which we have worked at in which we were
ready to quit and just kept working…The same is true in ministry in the work
that God has called us to do…We sometimes get to a point in which we feel like
we can’t do anymore... it’s like a bitter feeling (dormant) as if you aren’t
working anymore, or you’ve wandered away and are not where you used to be. The
feeling is like you have come to a point where the work doesn’t have meaning
anymore…or the meaning behind the work is no longer there…You don’t know what’s
next and all you know is what you’ve been through in the past and it has been
overwhelming yet there were a lot of good times, but now you’ve come to a point
where it’s very hard to move on or move forward…This is the time where satan
tends to give you the temptation to quit the fight, stop the work, and do your
own thing. He tends to send attacks using people who might draw your attention away
from the Lord’s work or different weaknesses that may distract you. We’re all
familiar with comments such as: “What am I really fighting for…” or “I’ve gone
this far and done so many things, but I don’t see anything happening…” or “I
could be doing something better…” –all the questions/thoughts that run through
your mind filled with uncertainty. Believe it or not, at the lowest moment of
trying to sustain through all of those trials, that’s when God puts it all
together for you…(He puts the Lego blocks together – Let ‘em drop, let ‘em
drop…)
·
The times that you are at your lowest, the Lord inspires you…You just
have to wait on Him; the inspiration will come at just the right time and when
it comes, it’s just so awesome. We’ve recently just experienced this feeling
and when you least expect it, the Lord just comes and renews, refreshes, and
tells you it’s time to get right back to it, but even when you feel that you
are not working and nothing’s happening,, you’re still working because you kept
going. The minute that you received Christ, you had started working and have
been working ever since; God has been working it out for you. You are
definitely working even though you don’t recognize that you are doing work.
–You have to do your work and you have to let God do His work. -Amen- You have
to just wait on the inspiration that God provides and give it time.
·
Appearances tend to become important to us for whatever reason.
Sometimes you see the people around you that are successful that have more
things than you, they dress better than you, appearances seem to sometimes
hinder us. Sometimes we can get caught up in the materialistic appearance of
things and that is a hindrance and God will try to prune that out of you in His
way and His timing. The Lord says to come as you are, don’t worry about the
things that you have and don’t have…God will work it out and His blessings will
pour on you at the proper time. We know that God’s timing is the best timing
when it comes to His blessings. You know that you are not supposed to store
your treasures here on earth anyway…because the treasures on earth are
corrupted and will rust and fade away. (Matthew
6:19-21) Just remember that if you find yourself caring more about the
things of this world then you are beginning to stay away from God’s will…You
will really need to sit down and do a self check test and humbly pray and trust
the Lord to change you. Focusing on the materialistic things can keep you from
focusing and doing the Lord’s will. You feel like you are not moving pass a
certain level, but in reality, God is working through you. –Some people plant
the seed and some people water…
·
Sometimes you don’t see the fruits right away, but God uses you when
you least expect it. You have to stand strong and not let the appearances get
to you because we each have our own portion of the work. Those who may have
expensive cars and nice clothes who are believers have their own separate work
as opposed to us who are “Ghetto Fabulous,” we have our own work that we have
to do. At the end we all are the same…because we do everything for the glory of
God and get purified (refined) and become more like the Lord. You have to clean
the inside first, and then the outside will become clean. (Matthew
23:26) The Lord will hook you up at the right time.
·
Sometimes people are out to buy their own salvation. They think that their
works will save them. Your works can not save you…What saves you is your
relationship with God through Christ. If you have that relationship, it becomes
more than the work. When you are before the throne of God, at the end of time,
you will review your life and you can not say, “I did this or I did that…”
because if you do not have the Love of the Father in you it is all in vain.
·
James
2:14-26 –Faith without works is dead. If you are trying to do the works
without love and faith you are doing the work in vain. Doing the work in vain is
doing the work without God in you and would be self pleasing to yourself. When
we work we tend to want a reward right away, we want to get paid (who doesn’t
want to get paid?), but there is a proper time for it and before you get paid
you actually need to do the work. There are times that you feel that it is not
fair because other people are getting paid more than you, but the reward comes
from the Love, Peace, Joy, and the Blessings from the Lord.
· Matthew
20:1-16 –The Parable of the Workers paid Equally – We all have
different walks of life…Some of us get saved in our early years and have walked
with Christ for quite sometime, others get saved right before they die, but we
all partake in His Love, Grace and Mercy. He accepts us as we are regardless of
how we’re lived our lives…No one can faththom the infinite mercy of the Lord
and His Grace is sufficient for all of us in His way. If He decides to be
merciful to the “worst of the worst” that’s his right to do so as a Father and
as a God. There tends to be people sometimes that get caught up in the
enviousness of other people that are “so blessed” or are envious because they
lived their life in a corrupt way like the Prodigal son.
· Prodigal
son –How many times have you felt yourself walk away from the Lord? –We’ve
all been there at times when we get caught up in the things of this world. The
other son that saw this happening was upset with His father because the father
had decided to kill the fatted calf and clothe the brother with the best robes
because he had returned: this made the other brother envious. In his jealousy,
the other son confronted the father as to why he hadn’t treated him in that way
because he had done everything right and did not stray away…His father had said
that it was right that he had did this because his son was dead and now is
alive again. This relates to us and we should do a self check on ourselves when
it comes to appearances. Things sometimes appear negative and sometimes we are
the ones who cause it to be negative, so we should ask the Lord to help us
through that. We stay in prayer, praying for everyone and ask that you pray for
us as well so that we can all stay in check and in the right path. We’re all
going through the same thing, so don’t ever feel that you are going through it
alone… (1Corinthians
10:13) –The Harvest is great, but the workers are few… (Matthew
9:37)
· Colossians
4:17 – God has called us to do this work…There’s a lot of work that has to
be done and in whatever talent the Lord has given you, we ask that you continue
and we promise to do the same. We will continue to do whatever the Lord has
asked us to do in this work. We have learned some hard lessons in the process.
This “Session” has been ongoing for several years…It started in 2002 and has
taken 3 years to complete… (The “Work” session – 3 years in the making) –
Pretty much going on 4 years…It’s something to really think about… “Work is a no
easy work!” – “Responsibility
is a heavy responsibility!” Keep that in mind. –Go ahead and meditate on
those words and don’t take our word for it…*Check in the scripts for yourself…You
might learn a thing or two…P.E.A.C.E. ><>

Colossians
1:10-12 –We all want to share in that inheritance after doing all the work and going through the life. What a perfect
way to end the “Work” session by looking forward to the “Worship.” We’ve been
through a lot of things in this “Session” and we want to make mention that we
are very satisfied with the way things turned out in the struggle through all
the things that we went through, it’s definitely been worth it. We just want to
give the Lord all of the Honor and Glory for Everything He has put in our lives
to get us through it. We also want to “Thank You” for listening & reading
these “Sessions,” we know that you’ve been listening & reading these
struggles that we’ve been fighting through…It started off with the “Warfare,”
then we moved on to the “Work,” and now we’re headed into the “Worship.” We
were talking about how long this “Work” has been, it’s been quite a work on our
hands, but we just want to give all the Glory to God. We pray that if you are
out there doing the “Work” that you don’t give up, just keep on working to the
end. –Amen–
· Be strong and of good courage the Lord will
help you get through it all and we pray that the Lord will give you the Joy,
fill you up with the Joy and Strength to keep going and to complete the task
that He has placed upon your life. That’s what this “Session” is all about to
uplift you all, whether it’s training, or whatever it is that the Lord has used
in this “Session” to teach you and guide you in whatever way He has for you.
Remember it’s all from Him, the words we speak, we always prayerfully ask the
Lord to give us His words and to only speak His words through the life
experiences that we’ve had to share with you that we’ve been through. We want
to “Thank You” for listening and reading and “Holy Joe” would personally like
to say, “God Bless You & Keep You and for those who need to be saved please
just ask the Lord to save you and teach you and go to a (Spirit filled) church,
be strong, and take care y’all…Yeoshua Bless!!!!” – Look for that relationship with the Lord
because it’s all about relationship with Christ and that’s the TRUE Love once
you recognize Him as your personal “Savior” and He becomes more than
just some “God up in the sky;” He’s in your heart.
