The Bible warns against false doctrine:

· 1 Timothy 6:3-17 – Were supposed to command our fellow Brothers & Sisters in these commands as Servants of God.

· 1 Timothy 6:17 – Put your hope in God & not in wealth. Do good &be rich in good deeds & willing to share. Take hold of the life that is truly life. Have that Christ mentality and keep yourself from earthly riches.

· Mathew 6:19,24 – Store up your treasures in heaven. Where your treasures are there is where your heart is. No one can serve two masters. God & Money. – Do not worry for the Lord provides. If he takes care of the birds what makes you think you’re not more important than the birds. If he clothes the lilies in the fields what makes you think that he won’t clothe you.

· Proverbs 3:5 – Trust the Lord with all your heart. Live by faith not by sight. (Trust God) Faith is the Key.

How many of us are caught in the LUST of the world?

· Revelation 9:20 – Do not worship idols. Vanity leads to idolatry. When it comes time to choose between materialism & God some will choose the materialistic items because those items have become their idols.

· Satan tries to keep you from Love, Peace & all that God offers because Satan wants to take away those things that the Lord has for you.

· Luke 16:14 – Some people get this arrogant pride because they think money will be able to get them anywhere they want. Let go of the baggage so that when the time comes you can enter through that straight & narrow gate. Jesus Christ is the One key for them to get in.

· If it’s hard for you to let go just trust in God & the plan that he has for you. Everything at the end stays here. You can’t take it with you. Have the mind of Christ.

What’s going on in the world today?

· Influences from T.V. & the Radio: Entertainers & artists that portray living a lavished life style are misleading the youth. They act out a lavished lifestyle & the youth grow up wanting to be like these artist because of their, so called, “fame & fortune.” In response the youth end up seeking his or her vainglory rather than seeking & trusting God.

· Galatians 5:26 – We should be like Christ & not envy one another. Seek after Christ & seek his face.

· Ecclesiastes 2:8 - If you follow after vainglory, it’s like chasing after the wind. Everything is meaningless without Christ. The Lord despises vainglory.

· If you give your life to God he’ll take care of you.

· Proverbs 8:10,11 – Wisdom is more powerful than wealth. Jesus rebuked Satan when he was tempted. The wages of Sin is Death & materialism ends up causing you to trust materialistic items rather than God.

Everything is written in the scriptures:

· Everything has already been done. There is nothing new under the sun. The difference between the worldly wealth & what the Lord has for you is that earthly riches can tear you down & be overbearing. The more you own, the more you owe. The Lord has Prudence, Wisdom, Knowledge Understanding & these things he wants to give to you.

· Proverbs 8:17 – Seek wisdom. Wisdom is better than silver & gold. Give up the worldly riches for the heavenly riches. Seek the Lord & he’ll pour out his riches unto you.

· Talents as a form of riches: Invest the talents in the Lord & do not burry them in the earth/world, because they are the fruits of the Spirit. If you invest the talents in/for the Lord then they will multiply for the glory of the Lord. If you invest them in the world, you will have to give up your talent & be cast out of the kingdom of God. There was also a rich man that asked what he could do to get to heaven & the Lord told him to sell everything he had & give it to the poor & to follow him.

· John 3:16 - Sometimes you have to sacrifice what you have. We’re not worthy & the Lord still blesses us. The Lord left his throne & his heavenly riches just to sacrifice himself so that we might be saved. He gave up everything because of Love, in humbleness. –Job had his riches tested, but he trusted God & got back a 100 fold. –King David started off poor as a sheepherder & God blessed him with a kingdom.

In Conclusion:

· Psalm 119:35-40 - The Lord will fulfill his promises to you as long as you are in his will. Everything that was happening during the times of King Solomon is still happening now only 100 fold. He tried everything to see what was pleasing to man & he said it was all pointless/meaningless, so take his advice rather than doing that which has already been done. “Scriptures where it’s at!!!” – If you want to be saved call on Jesus name!!!! – John 3:16
